Job Summary

You will serve as a Rigger Leader in the US Pacific Fleet's Rigging and Equipment Operations Division, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of loads and equipment. As a key member of the team, you will lead a group of Rigger Helpers, Rigger Workers, and Riggers, providing guidance and training to ensure all work assignments are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and supervise a team of riggers and equipment operators to ensure safe and efficient operations
* Plan and execute lifting and handling operations, ensuring compliance with schematic drawings, operations manuals, and manufacturer's specifications
* Conduct routine inspections of work in process to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
* Monitor and report on equipment maintenance and repair needs

Requirements

* Must be a US citizen
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

Working Conditions

* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals)
* Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time

Qualifications

* Ability to lead or supervise
* Ability to interpret instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading
* Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
* Knowledge of materials
* Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
* Use of measuring instruments (mechanical, electrical, electronic, as appropriate to line of work)
