We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Amergis. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory and pulmonary therapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor.
Key Responsibilities- Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in patients' conditions
- Plan for outcomes of care for assigned patients
- Assist with diagnosing lung or breathing disorders
- Evaluate patients and perform tests and studies when indicated
- Determine appropriate therapy and treatment options in collaboration with physicians
- Manage respiratory/pulmonary equipment and devices
- Educate patients and families about lung diseases and breathing disorders
- Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and hospital policies and patient care outcome standards
- Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state in which he/she practices
- One year of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
