Job Summary

Hotel Equities is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Billings, MT. As a key member of our hotel operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our hotel facilities, equipment, and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks in public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, pool, and grounds.
  • Maintain rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as needed.
  • Understand and implement the room preventative maintenance program.
  • Repair televisions, phones, clock radios, and other electronic equipment.
  • Replace or repair damaged bathroom fixtures and execute general plumbing as needed.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of the room, including replacing broken mirrors, hanging fixtures, and touch-up painting.
  • Troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Use power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel, including the front of the house, interior, and exterior.
  • Maintain the condition of hotel lobbies and restaurants, repairing furniture and decorations as necessary.
  • Repair and maintain kitchen and laundry/housekeeping equipment.
  • Repair and replace windows and mirrors.
  • Maintain the exterior of the building and grounds as needed.
  • Maintain operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs.
  • Maintain and assist in the cleanliness of individual work areas.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel's safety systems and take corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems that affect the security or operating condition of the hotel.
  • Report any hazards or injuries in the department and take immediate action to correct.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of guest service/customer service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hotel sales processes and systems is a plus.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Basic computational ability.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, maintenance of records of power, water, and fuel consumption.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of using purchase orders and ordering materials is a plus.
