We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team in the Emergency and Critical Care Units at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our clients and their pets.
Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with our veterinary team to provide high-quality patient care and support.
- Assist with the care and nursing needs of patients in the critical care unit.
- Perform technical tasks such as catheter placement, lab sample collection, and radiography.
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide excellent customer service.
- Document all client communications and patient information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in rotating on-call shifts and be available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Assist with training and mentoring of staff and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently and perform physical and manual dexterity tasks.
- Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic preferred.
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license or eligibility to obtain within 12 months preferred.
- Competitive hourly rate: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour.
- Sign-on bonus of 5% of base pay (minimum $1,800+ for Veterinary Technicians).
