AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in a Full-Time assignment at a correctional facility in California. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing mental health services to inmates, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities- Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with supervisors, treatment team members, and CDCR institutional healthcare personnel to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
- Community Standard Practices: Effectively apply community standard practices for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
- Mental Status Exam: Perform mental status exams in face-to-face clinical interviews.
- Record Review: Examine prior mental health records, institutional chromos, probation reports, court records, and other available documents to assist in the formulation of patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Mental Health Education: Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
- Entitlement Benefits: Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
- Transition Planning: Facilitate patient transitions between various settings within the institution.
- Pre-Release Functions: Perform pre-release functions for releasing patients, including patient education and facilitating transition to county mental health and community mental health treatment programs.
- Medical Social Functions: Perform medical social functions as needed, particularly in CTC settings.
- IDTT Meetings: Participate in IDTT meetings.
- Data Analysis: Compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements.
- Reporting: Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR staff.
- Confidentiality: Protect and maintain the confidentiality of patient information, only releasing it with the patient's signed consent.
- Therapeutic Relationships: Develop therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and caregivers to enhance effective treatment delivery.
- Representation: Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters related to clinical social work.
- Safety and Security: Protect and maintain the safety and security of property, including documentation of unusual occurrences and inventory control of psychological testing material, reference material, computers, and other equipment.
- Conduct Supervision: Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility to prevent escapes or injury to themselves or others.
