About the Position

This position is assigned to the Sheppard AFB Bowling Center, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the bowling lanes and equipment. As a Laborer - Bowling Lane Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the lanes are clean, well-maintained, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, oil, and polish the bowling lanes and lane approaches to meet established standards.
  • Sweep, dust, and clean other areas of the bowling facility, collect and remove trash, and maintain all areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Hand sand and varnish minor flaws in lanes until the surface can be conditioned.
  • Maintain stock levels and records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform minor corrective adjustments to bowling lane machinery as necessary, and perform periodic minor preventive maintenance on automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment.
Physical Effort and Working Conditions

Heavy physical effort is required in frequent lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in using heavy hand tools and operating equipment. You will work indoors in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy, and require caution in working with moving parts during operation of equipment.

Employment Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations.

  • Must have experience that demonstrated the ability to train in the maintenance of bowling lanes and experience that demonstrated the ability to operate, control, and clean heavy powered equipment.
  • Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
