Mammography Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Quadrant Inc. in Columbia, MD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform screening breast imaging procedures and related techniques, producing high-quality data for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the imaging center team to improve clinical practice and provide feedback.
  • Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in patient medical records.
  • Verify informed consent and corroborate patient clinical history with physician orders.
  • Assume responsibility for patient needs during procedures and apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure.
  • Identify, prepare, and administer medications as prescribed by licensed independent practitioners.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  • Provide education to patients, students, and other healthcare providers.
  • Perform ongoing quality assurance activities and maintain archival storage of digital data.
  • Assist in maintaining supply inventory and participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Take the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Mammography Technologist with 1+ years of experience.
  • Skill in operation of Mammography equipment and ancillary equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems.
  • Associates Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration.
