Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at CDI, a leading manufacturer of curb adapters in the HVAC industry. As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding various metal types to create components used to assemble the finished product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MIG welding machine and other tools to complete projects safely and accurately.
  • Create high-quality welds according to blueprints and inspect them for accuracy.
  • Prepare products to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting steel parts.
  • Change welding wire and shielding gas tanks as needed.
  • Follow and enforce all CDI safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner, and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Perform inspections on products before, during, and after the build, following CDI's standards.
  • Monitor the functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors and other production staff to coordinate work schedules.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, ability to multitask, and strong time management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools.
  • Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools.
  • Knowledge or willingness to cross-train in other production departments.
  • Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended amounts of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat, and lift.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Combination of trade school and/or 2 years of practical experience.
