Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing grounds maintenance duties at a naval station. The Laborer will be responsible for mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing/sweeping grass using various equipment. The Laborer may also be assigned to plant sod, shrubs, flowers, trees, and/or landscape materials. The Laborer will contribute to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the supervisor, and implementing feedback for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing/sweeping grass using mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers.
- Planting sod, shrubs, flowers, trees, and/or landscape materials.
- Pruning, raking, applying or removing mulch, and watering.
- Safely operating equipment and performing minor maintenance.
- Contributing to teamwork by training and helping co-workers, communicating needs to the supervisor, and implementing feedback for improvement.
Requirements:
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must pass various State and Federal registry checks.
- Must pass DCFS Abuse and Neglect Tracking System check.
- Preferred: pass driving history check and Company policy criteria.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and be 21 or older to drive.
Work Environment:
The Laborer will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting while performing grounds maintenance duties.
