Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Laboratory Tests: Perform a variety of tests, from basic to advanced levels, including emergency, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures for patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adults, and the elderly.
  • Manage Instruments: Calibrate, standardize, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment. Troubleshoot issues and conduct quality control checks to ensure accurate test results.
  • Handle Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation related to laboratory tasks and procedures.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Follow infection control protocols and safety practices as per established policies.
  • Oversee Inventory: Manage the inventory of laboratory supplies, ensuring they are stored and handled correctly.
  • Communicate Effectively: Respond to questions about test results, methodologies, and their interpretation.
  • Charge Tech Responsibilities: Assume the role of Charge Tech when needed, overseeing lab operations during designated shifts.
Medical Lab Technician - FT Qualifications:
  • Certification: Must hold board certification in Laboratory Science from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
