We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Technician. In this role, you will assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including filling prescriptions, verifying medication, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including filling prescriptions, verifying medication, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and patients, including most valuable customers.
  • Assist in scheduling and maintaining work flow, including reviewing and complying with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and take customers to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required.
  • Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
  • Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
Requirements:
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
