Job Title: Pastry Production Team Member

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Pastry Production Team Member to join our culinary team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing and coordinating the delivery of all baked goods to designated hotel departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality and consistency of all pastries and bread menu items.
  • Pre-Service Preparation: Ensure Banquet functions are completed 30 minutes prior to service.
  • Recipe Management: Understand and maintain all standard pastry and bread recipes.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure all food supplies necessary for service are in appropriate supply on a timely basis.
  • Production and Plating: Responsible for production of sweet items, pastries, cakes, fruit compotes, breads, chocolates, etc. for all outlets as well as banquets and amenities.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Keep walk-in, prep area and equipment up to Health Department standards at all times.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist in producing and plating Banquet desserts.
  • Time Management: Work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for pastry needs.
  • Leadership: Prioritize, organize, delegate work and follow through.
  • Creativity: Produce creative and artistic environment.
  • Independence: Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • Teamwork: Work cohesively with entire culinary staff as part of a team.
  • Food Safety: Maintain food preparation handling and correct storage standards.
  • Compliance: Support procedures for food & beverage portion and waste controls.
  • Temperature Control: Follows proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
Requirements:
  • Critical Thinking: To be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.
  • Food Safety Certification: Must have and maintain a Food Handler's permit.
  • Effective Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Math Skills: Basic math skills needed to understand and implement recipes and measurements.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • Physical Demands: Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 70 pounds without assistance.
Working Environment:
  • Hotel Environment: Interior of hotel, in all Food and Beverage areas, with exposure to humidity and extreme temperatures.
  • Chemical Exposure: Exposure to Food and Beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
