Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HSSE Advisor to join our team at SBM Offshore. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the prevention and mitigation of risks to our personnel, assets, the environment, and our company reputation.

About the Role
  • Monitor and facilitate compliance with company HSSE policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Promote and develop a strong HSSE/Process Safety Culture onshore and onboard Liza FPSOs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact onshore for the Offshore Safety department.
  • Coach the onshore HSSE department and transfer knowledge and experience to HSSE specialists.
  • Attend external/client HSSE audits and ensure appropriate preventive and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Participate in vendor/subcontractor qualification and drive continuous improvement of contractors' delivery.
  • Support offshore or onshore incident investigations and follow up on action items.
  • Share best HSSE/Process Safety practices and develop initiatives to learn from other unit operations.
  • Liaise with clients on Process Safety and HSSE matters.
  • Act as a core member of the Onshore Emergency Response Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HSSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on HSSE procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure HSSE integration into business operations.
  • Monitor and report on HSSE performance metrics and trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders on HSSE matters.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree in Process Safety or Health and Safety, or a strong technical/site experience with relevant HSSE/Process Safety qualifications.
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent.
  • Lead Auditor (OHSAS 18000) certification.
  • At least 5-6 years' experience in Offshore/FPSO operations, with previous work as a Safety Officer a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Excellent oral and written English.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to cooperatively resolve issues with stakeholders.
