Electrical Systems Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Smiths Interconnect, a global leader in high-performance interconnect solutions.

About the Role

This position will involve technical responsibility for all aspects of analog and digital hardware development within our products, including research, architecture trades, estimating recurring and non-recurring hardware and activities, analysis, proposals, selection, development, prototyping, verification, customer support, manufacturing support, and sustainment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement analog and digital hardware solutions for aerospace and defense market applications, including RADAR, EW, SIGINT, comm, and satcom systems.
  • Work closely with program management, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of hardware components into our products.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex circuitry, design printed circuit boards, and develop test plans to verify product functionality.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in component-level design, analysis, prototyping, and verification of highly complex analog and digital circuitry.
  • Proficiency with hardware implementation of analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion, as well as experience with signaling interfaces such as RS-232/422/485, TTL, LVTTL, CMOS, LVCMOS, LVDS, SERDES.
  • Experience with schematic creation and layout of multi-layer mixed signal printed circuit boards (PCBs) and proficiency with component-level simulation tools such as PSPICE.
  • Knowledge of EMI filtering and transient voltage protection, DC-to-DC power conversion, and linear voltage regulation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an integrated process team (IPT).
