Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Commercial Rear Load Driver to join our team at Waste Connections in Fife, WA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in waste management and the ability to operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste
  • Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires
  • Load and unload waste, often with no helpers, and operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and dispose of trash
  • Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds
  • Exposure to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Basic knowledge of truck components for pre- and post-trip inspections
