Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate CT equipment, perform diagnostic procedures, and provide exceptional patient care. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for:

  • Competently operating CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures.
  • Obtaining medical history from patients and comparing requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Positioning patients and selecting proper scanning factors, adjusting factors to attain the appropriate images, and providing radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Preparing and administering contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, and assisting in the proper scanning techniques.
  • Post-processing images as directed and accurately identifying and labeling images, including patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
  • Preparing and maintaining records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and entering patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documenting billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Identifying equipment performance issues and performing equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures, reporting malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff, and evaluating new products and equipment.
  • Performing various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements:

To be successful as a CT Technologist, you will need:

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications:

We prefer candidates with:

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety.
  • Competence in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions:

This role requires:

  • The ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • The ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Clear speech, vision, and hearing.

May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
