The Sigma Healthcare team is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our dedicated staff.

Shift Details: Flexible 5-8 hour shifts, with potential for 4-10 hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits proficiency in selecting exposure parameters, positioning patients, and consistently producing high-quality radiologic images.
  • Collaborates effectively with all department members to swiftly address challenges.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, teamwork, empathy, respect, courtesy, and accountability in all customer interactions.
  • Maintains awareness and sensitivity towards patient rights in all patient interactions.
Focus Areas:
  • Prepares and instructs patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, assisting the Radiologist during procedures.
  • Displays expertise in operating all x-ray equipment, including CR and DR systems.
  • Completes assigned tasks promptly and utilizes downtime between procedures to assist colleagues and facilitate room turnover.
  • Understands the importance of medication security, ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel.
  • Demonstrates competency in delivering healthcare services across all age demographics.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients of all ages.
Documentation and Information Management:
  • Proficient in utilizing Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and PACS.
  • Engages in hospital performance improvement initiatives as necessary.
  • Upholds confidentiality by using personal passwords and patient care modules.
  • Handles technical inquiries from physicians or hospital staff with professionalism and good phone etiquette.
Qualifications:
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Valid licensing in the state of New York.
  • Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) certification preferred.
