Licensed Practical Nurse - Primary Care Facility
Position Overview:
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will assist healthcare providers in delivering essential medical services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare necessary materials, supplies, and equipment to support healthcare providers during patient examinations.
2. Gather patient histories and essential medical information, including vital signs, temperature, height, weight, vision, and primary concerns.
3. Deliver direct patient care, including ear irrigation, vaccinations, medication administration, wound care, and suture removal.
4. Collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens as instructed by healthcare providers.
5. Educate patients and their families on preventive care, medication adherence, test preparation, treatment monitoring, and symptom management.
6. Follow up with patients via telephone to provide requested information, share test results, or communicate provider instructions.
7. Engage in organizational tasks to support the mission of the practice through continuous quality improvement.
8. Complete all meaningful use requirements.
9. Adhere to compliance responsibilities associated with the role.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
- Fundamental medical knowledge and terminology.
- Proficient computer skills and data entry.
- Ability to accurately obtain patient vital signs.
- Experience in vaccine administration and medication preparation.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Experience in phlebotomy.
- Knowledge of EKG procedures.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.
Working Conditions:
Essential:
* Requires manual skills and dexterity.
* Minimal occupational risk.
* Medium to heavy physical effort, with the potential to exert up to 35 lbs. of force.
* Generally pleasant working environment.
