Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and repair heavy equipment, including tracked vehicles, power generation equipment, and facilities
- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on motorized vehicles, power generation equipment, and facilities
- Monitor and maintain facilities at the research station, including electrical, plumbing, and heating systems
- Capably handle minor electrical, plumbing, and heating issues onsite
- Compile inventory records and submit resupply requests
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining tracked heavy-duty equipment
- 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining facilities, including welding and fabrication experience
- Experience maintaining and operating power generation equipment
- Proficiency with diagnostic software, tools, and techniques
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to drive a truck, snowmobile, and other polar vehicles
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods of time, working in confined spaces, and enduring extreme temperatures
- Valid US passport and driver's license
Field experience is preferred, and Arctic or Antarctic experience would be a plus. Knowledge of pipeline systems (including water, gas, and sewage) would be an asset.
