Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment, including tracked vehicles, power generation equipment, and facilities
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on motorized vehicles, power generation equipment, and facilities
  • Monitor and maintain facilities at the research station, including electrical, plumbing, and heating systems
  • Capably handle minor electrical, plumbing, and heating issues onsite
  • Compile inventory records and submit resupply requests
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining tracked heavy-duty equipment
  • 5+ years of experience repairing and maintaining facilities, including welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience maintaining and operating power generation equipment
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software, tools, and techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to drive a truck, snowmobile, and other polar vehicles
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods of time, working in confined spaces, and enduring extreme temperatures
  • Valid US passport and driver's license

Field experience is preferred, and Arctic or Antarctic experience would be a plus. Knowledge of pipeline systems (including water, gas, and sewage) would be an asset.
