The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components, equipment, and machinery
  • Work on packaging products such as trays and sacks
  • Assess the feasibility of equipment in internal customer applications
  • Participate in ongoing design reviews and brainstorming sessions with other engineers
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc.
  • Develop design improvements to mechanical equipment in a modernized industrial/manufacturing plan
  • Fabricate, operate, apply, install, and/or repair mechanical products
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 6-8 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing and supporting mechanical equipment
  • Experience using MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and Access) and specialized software
  • Experience with 2-D CAD, MS Office, and other widely used software packages required. 3-D CAD is a plus
  • Experience with product packaging methods and solutions is a plus
  • Requires travel (all covered) Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test
  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for a Public Trust clearance
