About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team at Voss Industries, LLC. As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for operating CNC milling and turning machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reads and interprets work instructions, prints, and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions
  • With assistance, troubleshoots, edits, and optimizes new production programs to ensure efficient overall production
  • Calculates and sets machine controls to specific work orders and regulates factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
  • Documents new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated and overall production time is optimized
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Deburr parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures
  • Setups machines on a flexible basis to ensure optimum output throughout the shop
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 1-3 years' experience as CNC mill/lathe operator preferred
  • Experience verifying dimensions of parts, using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, depth gauges, and/or fixed gauges
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Flexibility in work assignments
  • Must be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking
  • Must be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance
  • Must be able to work daily and weekly overtime as required
