Job Summary:

National Heritage Academies (NHA) seeks a dedicated and experienced Dean of Middle School to join our team at Emerson Academy of Dayton. As a key member of our school leadership team, the Dean of Middle School will play a pivotal role in achieving our mission of transforming the lives of students and enriching communities by delivering high-quality educational choice to families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social growth.
  • Master and model the Classroom Framework of Instructional Practice to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with teachers, staff, and parents to promote a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers to enhance their instructional skills and promote student growth.
  • Manage and analyze student, class, and wing data to inform instruction and drive student achievement.
  • Promote and model NHA's core values and procedures, including the School-wide Behavioral System and Moral Focus.
  • Manage parent relationships and communicate effectively with families.
  • Participate in recruitment and onboarding efforts for direct reports.
  • Administer annual evaluations and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Lead wing Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings to drive instruction and student growth.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma (BA or equivalent) or higher in Education or a related field.
  • School Administrator Licensure in states where required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience and previous school leadership experience as an Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, or similar role.
  • A valid administrator license (if required for the state in which you are applying).
  • Experience working with at-risk students is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to see complex projects through from start to finish.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
