Job Summary

The Clinical Nursing Educator will be responsible for providing instruction to students enrolled in the nursing education program, participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program, and developing policies and procedures. This individual will also be responsible for maintaining office hours, teaching extended day classes, labs, and hybrid/online courses, and coordinating advisory committee meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Provide instruction to students in the nursing education program
    • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
    • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Program Development and Evaluation
    • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing education program
    • Develop policies and procedures to ensure the quality of the program
    • Collaborate with other faculty members to achieve program goals
  • Student Support and Advising
    • Maintain office hours to meet with students
    • Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and professional development
    • Advise students on their career goals and provide resources to help them achieve those goals
  • Professional Development
    • Stay current with best practices in nursing education
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
    • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement new curriculum
Requirements
  • Education
    • Master's degree in nursing or a related field
    • Current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas
  • Experience
    • Three years of experience in nursing education
    • Knowledge of teaching methodologies and pedagogical strategies
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work with diverse populations
    • Knowledge of Texas Board of Nursing rules for nursing practice and nursing programs
