Key Responsibilities:
- Transport freight in a safe and prompt manner
- Interact with clients and customers in a professional and courteous manner with limited supervision
- Comply with Department of Transportation regulations and laws
- Maintain responsibility for safety and security of company equipment and customer goods
- Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock, either individually or with the assistance of a co-worker, with or without mechanical freight handling equipment, as required.
- Record quantity and type of shipments using bills of lading, delivery receipts, and tally sheets.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including cranking levers to raise and lower landing gear.
- Fuel trucks and tractors.
- Perform all other work-related duties as assigned.
This hands-on, day-shift position is ideal for those who demonstrate great customer skills and have mastered local traffic routes. Bobtail drivers with local delivery experience are welcome to apply.
