Clean and Maintain County Buildings

This is a routine manual work position that involves cleaning and maintaining county buildings and grounds. An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks, including washing and dusting furniture, vacuuming carpeted floors, and emptying trash and recycling cans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Wash and dust furniture, shelves, and other office surfaces.
  • Vacuum carpeted floors to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Dry and wet mop floor and stairs to prevent slipping hazards.
  • Empty trash and recycling cans and replace trash can liners to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Clean restrooms and replenish all restroom supplies, ensuring a clean and comfortable environment for employees and visitors.
  • Wash windows to allow natural light to enter the building.
  • Strip, wax, and buff floors using a power buffing machine to maintain their appearance and durability.
  • Move furniture as needed to accommodate different events and activities.
  • Shovel snow from sidewalks and steps around county buildings during winter months.
  • Report necessary repairs to the foreman to ensure timely maintenance and minimize disruptions.
  • Perform related work as required to support the efficient operation of county facilities.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent physical stamina, ability to learn new skills, and strong communication skills. A valid driver's license is also required for this position.

Estimated Salary: $24,103.72 per year
