Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients, including administering medications and documenting patient information.
  • Work under the supervision of the RN to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Administer IV therapy and medications according to hospital policy.
  • Ensure the proper segregation and safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
  • Monitor and discontinue blood and blood products.
  • Receive and transcribe physicians' orders as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuing evaluation of the patient care plan.
  • Document care in the patient's record.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Tennessee.
  • Completion of a vocational school LPN program and a formal IV therapy training program.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Ability to demonstrate nursing skills according to current hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
