Job Title: CNC Machinist V

Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the aerospace and defense industry, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist V to join our Advanced Structures team. This role will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC Machine Centers, machining complex fiberglass products, and providing programming experience to the machining process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate multiple CNC Machine Centers, machining complex fiberglass products.
  • Provide programming experience to the machining process.
  • Maintain a safety-first and teamwork mindset.
  • Aid the setting up and proving out of programs with CNC Programmer/Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Meet and sustain Certified Operator requirements.
  • Support and manage the machine tooling to best achieve drawing tolerances, including offset adjustments and tool wear identification.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to coordinate activities.
  • Create shop aids and standard work instruction for process improvements.
  • Participate in EHS risk reduction activities.
  • Provide continuous improvement ideas to support lean and CORE initiatives.
  • Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
  • Assist in the training of other machine operators and machinists.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.
  • HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant machining experience.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • Must have minimum of 8 years' experience with 5 axis machine center experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of programming experience.
