Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

PermiaCare is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Job Summary:

The Substance Abuse Counselor will conduct daily screenings, assessments, and referrals for clients seeking substance use disorder treatment. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily screenings and assessments for clients seeking substance use disorder treatment
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients
  • Provide counseling and support services to clients and their families
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in substance use disorder treatment
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. psychology, social work, counseling)
  • Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary certifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder treatment principles and practices
