Job Title: Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant - Cardiology

Cleveland Clinic Health System is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and experiences. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant - Cardiology to join our team at the Twinsburg Family Health & Surgery Center.

Job Summary:

The Outpatient Clinical Care Assistant - Cardiology will provide high-quality patient care and support to our cardiology team. This role will involve completing rooming processes, collecting patient specimens, performing Point of Care Testing, and preparing patients for exams and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete rooming process, including vitals, height, weight, and completion of intake questions and documents, and report abnormal findings to RN or LIP.
  • Collect patient specimens, perform Point of Care Testing, and prepare specimens for transport to lab.
  • Prepare patients for exams, tests, and procedures, and assist with exams, treatments, and procedures using sterile techniques as applicable.
  • Perform patient treatments as directed, including the application of heat or cold, simple sterile dressing changes, and application and removal of casts, braces, and splints.
  • Document in the electronic health record and assist with management of in-baskets and closure of care gaps.
  • Assist with setting up the clinic for daily operations and closing clinic in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Stock supplies and linens as applicable, clean, monitor expiration dates, and restock dressing supply cart, check AED units and oxygen tanks, and empty needle boxes using appropriate safety measures.
  • Maintain all designated work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, patient outreach, and patient registration.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year recent health care experience in a hospital, ambulatory, homecare, assistant living, nursing home, or long-term care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in the use of electronic medical records.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
