About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Lead to join our Financial Shared Services team. In this role, you will lead a small team of exempt and non-exempt employees responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable operations. This includes supplier master data management, payment processing, escheatment compliance, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, coach, and lead your team to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), customer agreements, company policies, and procedures.
  • Support all key financial cycles, including period closing, year-end processes, physical inventories, internal/external audits, and more, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in transactional processing.
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships and leverage them to manage process improvements and controls within the organization.
  • Supervise a team of up to ten permanent and temporary employees, primarily non-exempt staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5-7 years of experience in a Shared Services or Finance/Accounting organization.
  • 2-4 years of management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting policies, practices, principles, and processes.
  • Experience managing a transactional processing organization with a focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, cost, quality, etc.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex accounting concepts in clear business terms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards in accounting and business management.
