We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Michigan. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working approximately 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Health Center Manager.
The salary for this position is $18.25 per hour, with a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, Life & ADD, 403B, Flexible Spending Account, and Paid Time off Program.
About the Role:As a Medical Assistant, you will work under direct supervision to provide patient-centered medical services and education in support of our mission. You will maintain patient records, participate in patient access and demand goals, and demonstrate commitment to living out and modeling our In This Together Workplace Values and Service Standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and enter information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Participate actively in patient access and demand goals to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to all applicable laws, PPMI policies, and insurance guidelines.
- Perform basic diagnostic testing, prepare lab specimens, and obtain vital signs as needed.
- Administer injections, prepare patients for procedures, and assist clinicians during exams or procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to medical terminology, medical record documentation, and CPT/ICD coding.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, use required software applications, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to advancing race (+) equity in one's work and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across differences.
