Appraiser Technician

The Stanislaus County Assessor's Office is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join their team as an Appraiser Technician. This full-time position will provide technical support to appraisers and auditor-appraisers, performing a variety of tasks to assist with property valuation and assessment.

• Perform office work and field inspections to gather data and information for property valuation and assessment.
• Make public contact to gather field data, including measuring and drawing new residences, additions, and miscellaneous structures.
• Review, verify, correct, and post value information submitted by property owners.
• Assist with the processing of annual property statements and verify accuracy of assessment data entered into computer files.
• Prepare and/or update building records and scale drawings, and gather support data and information for appraisers and auditor-appraisers.
• Use existing cost tables to calculate replacement cost of new structures and assist in processing building permits and plans.
• Maintain records and prepare reports, and respond to public inquiries regarding general appraisal procedures and current laws affecting the operations of the Department.

• Completion of 60 semester units of college coursework or equivalent, or completion of 30 semester units of college coursework and at least one and a half years of cumulative work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, cost estimating, construction, real estate sales, or working in an Assessor's Office in California.
• A minimum of three (3) years of cumulative work experience in the areas listed above.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid California Driver's License.
