Role Details:

As an Ultrasound Imaging Specialist, you will be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, contingent upon relevant experience.

Detroit Medical Center, recognized as Michigan's first Level I Trauma Center, is renowned for its advanced emergency medicine practices and state-of-the-art emergency department.

In this role, you will operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment under general supervision, adhering to established protocols. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity, reviewing medical records for exam appropriateness, and conducting patient interviews to gather medical history and assess risk factors.

You will explain procedures to patients, detailing potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives. Your duties will also involve setting up imaging equipment, acquiring necessary images, and documenting any deviations from established protocols while communicating findings to the radiologist.

Recognizing and responding to medical emergencies is crucial, as is participating in quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department, focusing on patient care, workflow efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Additionally, you will provide educational support to residents, student technologists, and new staff members.

Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S).
Completion of American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS) training is required by the end of the orientation period.
