Job Title: Victim Advocate

Project Woman of Ohio is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Victim Advocate to join our team. As a Victim Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing support and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Job Summary

The Victim Advocate will work closely with survivors to develop safety plans, provide emotional support, and connect them with community resources. You will also participate in crisis response, provide training to staff and community partners, and collect and maintain documentation and data.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking
  • Develop and implement safety plans with survivors
  • Participate in crisis response and provide emotional support to survivors
  • Provide training to staff and community partners on victim advocacy and support
  • Collect and maintain documentation and data on survivor services
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, hospitals, and other systems to ensure positive partnerships and enhance safety for survivors
  • Participate in local Coordinated Community Response teams
  • Network with state and national coalitions to represent Project Woman of Ohio
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and continuing education
  • Registered Advocate in Senior Standing certification
  • Prior experience working with domestic violence and sexual assault issues, criminal justice, law, or related experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Working Conditions

The Victim Advocate will work in a standard office environment and will be moderately active. The position requires sitting and standing for long periods, talking and hearing, and using hands to operate standard office equipment. The Victim Advocate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
