Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Laboratory Assistant to join our team at GeorgiaGov. As a key member of our Medical Assisting program, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our instructors and students in the laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist instructors with preparing laboratory sessions, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Provide individualized support to students in the lab and class environment, including demonstrations, testing, and grading.
- Oversee and maintain laboratory space and/or computer lab, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining accurate records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by instructors, including coordinating student participation in health fairs, field trips, and community health services.
Requirements:
- Current CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) credential.
- Associate's degree in medical assisting or related field and one year of experience in medical assisting, or three years' medical assisting experience within the last five years, and current healthcare provider CPR certification.
- Previous work experience in tutoring or instruction of students in a post-secondary environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Blackboard LMS is also preferred.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time position, requiring flexibility to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college. The successful candidate will be able to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff.
