Job Title: Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dental Hygienist to join our team at Meridian Health Services. As a key member of our dental office, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to our mission of delivering whole-person healthcare.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing under Access Practice Agreement and Prescriptive Hygiene functions, preparing patients for dental examinations, and maintaining patient records. You will also interview and advise patients on dental hygiene and tooth decay prevention, and refer patients as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hygiene duties under the supervision of a licensed dentist
  • Obtain preliminary dental history and make observations, assessments, and records
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations
  • Maintain and review patient records
  • Interview and advise patients on dental hygiene and tooth decay prevention
  • Scale teeth and refer patients as necessary
  • Recommend community resources to meet patient needs
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care between clinic visits
  • Remain current in advanced practice changes and translate findings into clinical practice
  • Follow infection control guidelines and ensure adherence to OSHA and CLIA protocols
  • Participate in the development and implementation of PCER guidelines
  • Demonstrate ongoing professional growth through participation in educational endeavors and associations
  • Maintain CPR certification and re-licensure requirements
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as required
Requirements
  • Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Current Indiana State Dental Hygiene License
  • Dental Radiographer license obtained within the first 6 months of employment
  • Two years' experience as a dental hygienist preferred
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
