Job Summary

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a highly skilled CEI Senior Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our construction engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed in accordance with plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with plans and specifications
  • Coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors
  • Maintain detailed records of project progress and inspection work
  • Review contract documents to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Coordinate materials sampling and verification testing
  • Communicate effectively with contractors' staff and other stakeholders
  • Perform mathematical calculations and attend project meetings as needed
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent plus four years of experience in construction inspection, with two years in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection
  • Supervisory experience, with direct responsibility for all inspection requirements related to construction operations
  • Working knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Proficient in the use of iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox, SiteManager, MAC, and/or OneDrive
  • Experience with FDOT construction inspection and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including day and night shifts, weekends, and extended travel
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds, and work in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
