Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cook II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food to our residents, ensuring that all meals are prepared and presented in a safe and sanitary manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food according to prescribed menus and recipes.
  • Portion and distribute food to residents and staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards.
  • Supervise and train other kitchen staff as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and supplies.
  • Participate in food safety and sanitation training and adhere to all guidelines.


Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in food preparation and service.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.


Working Conditions:
  • Work in a kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and noise.
  • May be required to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • May be required to lift and move heavy objects.
