Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surgical procedures for physicians and surgical staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Comply with safety policies, recognize and correct breaks in aseptic technique, perform equipment checks for proper functionality, and review/update surgeon preference cards.
  • Gown and glove yourself and other members of the team.
  • Anticipate and prioritize surgeon needs, and independently manage instrument, sponge, and sharp counts for all procedures.
Requirements
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA required.
  • Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network required.
  • One year of scrub experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
