Career advancement opportunities abound in the field of healthcare support, and CAMBA's Behavioral Health Community Health Worker Apprenticeship program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will work with a diverse population, providing support and guidance to individuals navigating complex healthcare systems.
Our apprenticeship program combines work experience with education, allowing you to develop valuable skills while earning a stipend. You will work 21 hours per week at CAMBA's Brooklyn office, participating in outreach, engagement, and intervention strategies, and assisting participants in achieving their goals. You will also take virtual classes with Hostos Community College, earning college credits for this Related Training and Instruction (RTI) coursework.
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 6 months of full-time relevant experience prior to beginning the apprenticeship. This can include work with government agencies or community organizations that provide public services. We also require applicants to be able to engage with college-level coursework and commit to a near-full-time schedule for 6-month apprenticeship.
