About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare for surgical procedures by collecting necessary supplies and instruments according to Surgeon Preference Card.
  • Prepare the Operating Room for cases by opening sterile supplies, setting up table, arranging instruments and supplies according to type of case.
  • Assist the surgical team during the operative procedure, maintaining correct count of instruments, needles and sponges, and identifying and caring for specimens.
  • Clean and prepare rooms between procedures and terminally clean at the end of the day, returning unused supplies and instruments to proper storage.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique, taking action to correct.

Requirements

Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces is required. No previous experience is necessary, but CST - Surgical Technologist Certification with NBSTSA or NCCT certification is preferred.
