Job Title: Full Time Assistant Kitchen Supervisor

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Kitchen Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality, and providing exceptional customer service to our beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train kitchen beneficiaries in food preparation, cooking, and cleaning procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including regular inspections and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Develop and implement menus that utilize donated goods and maximize their use and quality.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our beneficiaries, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Supervisor to ensure seamless kitchen operations and achieve our goals.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
