Job Title: Senior Data Quality Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Quality Analyst to join our team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our data governance team, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the establishment of a hospital-wide data governance structure. Your goal will be to improve data integrity and trust in data information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Leadership team of Health Records and Enterprise Data to support the establishment of a hospital-wide data governance structure.
  • Conduct data reconciliations across systems.
  • Develop educational materials to support data integrity.
  • Research best practice with respect to clinical documentation and data management.
  • Provide input on the overall data & analytics strategic plan with a focus on how data & analytics governance affects NYGH.
  • Coordinate data governance activities and development and implementation of a standard NYGH "Data Management Lifecycle".
  • Maintain data management framework that supports the NYGH Data & Analytic strategy.
  • Maintain, and disseminate enterprise-wide policies and maintain consistent process for data & analytics asset management.
  • Responsible for the ownership and management of the Enterprise Data Management processes and tools.
  • Promote knowledge within NYGH of the required frameworks, standards, methodologies, processes and tools to deliver on objectives or execute data and analytics governance activities.
  • Support data & analytics governance initiatives using up-to-date knowledge of the specific requirements, operating environment and key stakeholders within the specific focus areas.
  • Identify, recommend and guides continuous improvement opportunities to address enterprise-wide data & analytics asset management challenges, risks and issues.
  • Work with clinical and corporate programs to develop, document and operationalize policies and a centralized, consistent process for data management (DQ, metadata).
  • Conduct current state inventory of NYGH data & analytics standards to identify gaps and deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides secretariat support to governance tables and communities of practice.
  • Collects and reports on enterprise-wide data & analytics governance/management metrics.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Health Services and/or Health Information Management or related field.
  • Certified Health Information Management Professional and a member in good standing with the Canadian Health Information Management Association or DAMA International an asset.
  • Two to five years of progressively responsible and related experience.
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytics techniques.
  • Knowledge of data management domains and best practices.
  • Excellent conceptual and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of clinical documentation standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of CIHI and MOHLTC report usage.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, MED2020.
  • Knowledge of SPSS statistical software an asset.
  • Certified in Sequel Server, Crystal Reports & Congnos, preferred.
