The Mortgage Department at First State Bank and Trust is dedicated to growing and administering mortgage loans while providing exceptional customer service to our clients. As a Mortgage Lender, you will be responsible for originating and closing mortgages, as well as providing customer service to existing and potential clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Originate and close mortgages
- Provide customer service to existing and potential clients
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory and technological changes
- Communicate with the SVP, Chief Lending Officer and the Mortgage Manager, Mortgage Operations Officer, and Mortgage Processors regarding different projects and daily work activities
- 4 years of previous real estate, mortgage processing, or title experience required
- Ability to maintain NMLS number
- Working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, foreclosure processing best servicing practices, default/foreclosure laws and regulations
- Ability to maintain solid customer relationships by handling questions and concerns quickly, accurately, and professionally
- Ability to comprehend legal terms/conditions and apply them to work processes
- Excellent judgment and independent thinking skills
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Work is performed either standing or sitting and includes frequent position changes in response to customer needs. Ability to sit for long periods of time on occasion. Ability to operate a personal computer/laptop for approximately 8 hours per day. Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies, and other materials which weigh approximately 10-20 pounds.
Hand dexterity with wrist and finger manipulation as well as reaching with arms and hands due to filing, compiling, calculating, or computer work. Vision and hearing are for computer and phone use. Work interruptions are frequent. There is some pressure associated with dealing with individuals who may be emotionally charged with project or activity deadlines and details.
Vision abilities, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Read and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Relay information clearly and accurately. Applies good judgment when carrying out details of projects. Attending meetings, participating in training sessions, etc. may be required.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; some college preferred; College degree desired.
