Telemetry Acute Care Department

The Medical Surgical Unit is equipped with 30 private telemetry beds, serving as a vital component of our healthcare facility. This unit is designed to accommodate patients with higher acuity needs, ensuring comprehensive care and support throughout their stay.

Role Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing staff across various areas while ensuring the delivery of safe and efficient nursing care tailored to the needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care on a routine basis.
  • Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate employee records.
  • Identify educational needs and facilitate staff development initiatives.
  • Engage in discharge planning, community resource referrals, and patient education.
  • Participate in committees and quality improvement projects.
  • Manage daily operations of the unit in a cost-effective manner.
  • Involve in community outreach efforts as necessary.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, customers, and colleagues.
  • Commit to personal development and support a culture of learning.
  • Uphold the mission and values of the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations regarding the protection of patient health information.
Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) within two years of hire required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) within two years of hire required.

Experience

  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with patients and customers.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations with integrity.
  • Familiarity with current medical technologies and equipment.
  • Proficient in PC and computer applications.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Additional Certifications

  • Certification in a specialty clinical area or leadership required within two years.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based on unit needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Occasional climbing and balancing.
  • Constant communication and coordination skills required.
