As a Trailer Repair Specialist, you will be tasked with executing intermediate maintenance, servicing, and repairs on J.B. Hunt trailers and associated equipment.

With routine oversight, you will troubleshoot mechanical issues and ensure that all fleet maintenance aligns with J.B. Hunt's standards consistently.



Job Description:

Key Responsibilities :


Exhibit proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, encompassing fuel systems, batteries, engines, drive trains, onboard computers, transmissions, air brake systems, and FHWA inspections.


Diagnose trailer issues and accurately conduct intermediate-level repairs adhering to company and manufacturer's specifications, complete work orders, and demonstrate an understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.


Support the onboarding and mentorship of trailer technician trainees and engage in Original Equipment Manufacturer training for OE repairs.

Adhere to and effectively implement all shop safety protocols.

Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and clients.

Qualifications:
Minimum

Qualifications:


Must be at least 18 years old with 2 years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.

Must hold A/C certification.

Must be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes.

Able to provide your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program.

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if required.

Preferred

Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2+ years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.

Basic welding skills (MIG and stick).

Ability to effectively communicate and interpret ideas through various mediums.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable using a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Ability to utilize time and resources efficiently and effectively.

Ability to meet physical requirements (lift/move appliances up to 50 pounds).

Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).

Factors which may influence starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
