Fetal Echocardiography Job Description

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Fetal Echocardiography professional to join our team in Oakland, California.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Fetal Echocardiography professional to perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity to produce quality images for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and prevention of injury or disease.

Responsibilities
  • Competently perform sonography procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgment and executing developed clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and situations.
  • Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety.
  • May be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
  • ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification upon hire.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification upon hire.
  • Two of the following certifications: AB-Abdomen, BR-Breast, FE-Fetal Echocardiography, OB/GYN-Obstetrics & Gynecology, PS-Pediatric Sonography, RVT-Registered Vascular Technician.
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Proficient in performing sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods.

This is a part-time position with a schedule of 32 hours per week, including days and occasional evenings.

The salary range for this role is $66.48 to $83.09 per hour.
