The California State University is seeking a highly qualified Full-Time Lecturer in the Communication Studies Department. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position that will begin on September 16, 2024.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching basic oral communication courses, as well as additional courses in communication theory, interpersonal communication, organizational communication, small group communication, media studies, intercultural communication, and/or argumentation, depending on department need and applicant background.
Responsibilities- Teach 3-4 four-unit courses per quarter, with a total of 45 units across the academic year.
- Develop and implement curriculum for oral communication courses.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities.
- Master's degree in Communication or a closely related field.
- Successful teaching record in oral communication courses.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.

About the DepartmentThe Communication Studies Department is a dynamic and diverse department that serves approximately 400 majors and 50 minors, as well as students throughout the university in our many General Education course offerings.
