We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to provide exceptional care to our patients at Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital Parrish. You will work alongside skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests. You will also restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner, obtain accurate vitals, and collect and prepare laboratory samples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments and procedures
  • Restrain animals in a safe and efficient manner
  • Obtain accurate vitals and collect laboratory samples
  • Care and maintenance of medical equipment
  • High-quality client communication

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate
  • Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage stressful situations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
