Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise student employees assigned to the area, ensuring adherence to portioning, customer service, and food safety procedures.
  • Implement procedures for the proper storage of leftover food and potentially hazardous food items.
  • Prepare and pre-portion food products designated for cooking in accordance with food safety specifications and company recipes.
  • Set up line areas and collect necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.
  • Utilize a wide range of kitchen tools and utensils, including knives, to efficiently prepare food.
  • Receive and store food requisitions and supplies.
  • Process phone orders and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist in catering and special functions.
  • Maintain production records in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as assigned.
  • Operate and maintain the cleanliness of the Unit and equipment.
  • Process cash transactions and perform cash-ups.
  • Replenish product as needed, including ice machine and ice cream machine supplies.
  • Sweep and mop work areas as needed.
  • Report any equipment and service problems as necessary.
  • Identify and report any deficiencies or problems with food or supplies.
  • Prepare catering or special event food items as required.
  • Attend scheduled food safety training.
Requirements

A high school graduate or equivalent with experience in short order cooking, food service equipment, food handling procedures, and cash handling procedures is required.

This role involves moderate to heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs., constant standing, bending, and walking, and exposure to temperature extremes, slippery surfaces, congested work areas, and potentially dangerous equipment, tools, and machinery.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $15-15 per year.
